Dr. Conrad F. Matz III is a second-generation chiropractor who has been helping patients achieve optimal health and find relief from pain for 49 years. For him chiropractic and nutrition are not just a career, but a way of life, a family tradition, and a purpose to continually learn and help others with his expertise and state-of-the-art treatments. He is dedicated to his patients and focused on helping them achieve quality of life, strength, and longevity.
Upon graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic with honors in December 1975, he began his career practicing with his Father, Dr. Conrad F. Matz Jr. in Monroeville, PA. He is the oldest of four siblings, all chiropractors. In 1978, Dr. Matz III returned to his hometown of Murrysville, PA where he began his clinic Matz Family Chiropractic Center. He currently practices with his son Dr. Conrad F. Matz IV.
Truly an expert in his field, Dr. Matz III has taken numerous post-graduate courses in clinical nutrition focusing on whole food supplementation, functional herbal therapy, orthopedics, radiology, osteoporosis prevention, laser therapy, and rehabilitation. The rehabilitation courses have included extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of whiplash injuries, musculoskeletal conditions, and conservative treatment of disc bulges and herniation.
Dr. Matz III’s approach to treating patients is multifaceted and case-based. He utilizes the Nimmo technique, for which he was recognized as the first certified NimmoCare practitioner, along with the Chiropractic Instrument Adjusting Technique, utilizing the state-of-the-art Impulse IQ Adjusting Instrument for which he is certified. His adjustments are far superior to standard chiropractic manipulation, though he can utilize that approach when needed. He focuses on locating the hyperirritable spots known as trigger points in skeletal muscle tissue. He then applies precise pressure to break the muscles out of their pathological patterns of spasm and inflammation to alleviate pain. His technique treats not only acute cycles of spasm and inflammation, but also chronic patterns that have been wired into your system for months to years. It is gentle and highly effective.
Dr. Matz’s patients also benefit from the use of Power Plates, Erchonia cold laser therapy, nutritional guidance utilizing Standard Process Supplements, and the B-Strong 4 Life System for Osteoporosis Prevention.
He is a member of the Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association and the American Chiropractic Association.
